Tehran: If Iran is attacked, nuclear devices will go off in American cities

(DEBKAfile) — This warning, along with an announcement that Iran would join the world’s nuclear club within a month, raised the pitch of Iranian anti-US rhetoric to a new high Tuesday, April 13, as 47 world leaders gathered in Washington for President Barack Obama’s Nuclear Security Summit. The statement published by Kayhan said: “If the US strikes Iran with nuclear weapons, there are elements which will respond with nuclear blasts in the centers of America’s main cities.”

PID COMMENT: If you’ve not seen it, or if you’d forgotten about it, take a few minutes to examine (or re-examine) the ‘cultural slideshow’ called “Operation Blackjack” at the UK Telegraph website. If you watch all the parts, you’ll find that ‘one year earlier’ appears to take place in 2009, which puts the events of June 21 in 2010. BTW, slide #10 (cute, since the British PM resides at #10) was originally Gordon Brown, but quickly was changed to this nondescript fellow.
