Russia, US hold rival war games in restive Caucasus

Holy smokes! Wy doesn’t stuff like this ever make it into the ‘talking heads’ news? Of course, a Russian spokesman is saying the war games were planned a year ago — but so what? South Ossetia and Abkhazia have been pro-Russian for several years. It’s true that Georgia is not yet an official member of NATO, but take a look at NATO’s own site, and you’ll see a lot of cooperation taking place. Don’t forget that Georgia is strategically located between the Black Sea and the Caspian (lots of oil and natural gas). — PID
