Brown agrees to meet Dalai Lama

March 20 2008 (FINANCIAL TIMES) — Gordon Brown, Britain’s prime minister, has agreed to meet the Dalai Lama, Tibet’s spiritual leader, in a move that threatens to damage Britain’s strong bilateral relationship with China. In recent weeks, senior Chinese government officials have warned the British government that they would be angered if Mr Brown were to meet the Dalai Lama on his visit to London in May. Full Report
