UPDATE: 09:45 EDT — A moderate earthquake (mag. 4.0 has just been reported in Utah. The quake struck at 7:35:34 AM with an epicenter located at 38.577°N, 113.410°W (about 25 miles WNW of the town of Milford, UT). (NOTE ADDED at 10:40 EDT — the USGS has now removed the Utah quake from their list. We’re not sure why. — PID
Feb 21, 2008 (PID NEWS) — The USGS is reporting that a magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck northeastern Nevada this morning at 06:16:05 AM. The epicenter of the quake — 41.076°N, 114.771°W — is 11 miles ESE of the small town of Wells, Nevada and approx. 125 miles west of Salt Lake City, Utah.
No aftershocks have been reported at this time. There is yet no word of damage to property or persons. PID will report more as it comes in….
