January 3, 2008 (JERUSALEM POST) — In one of the largest security operations in years, more than 10,000 Israeli police officers will secure US President George W. Bush’s visit to Jerusalem next week, police said Wednesday. Full Report

Like Bill Clinton before him, Bush longs to leave a legacy that includes brokering the biggest deal of them all — peace in Israel. As you consider this ‘longing’ in the hearts of world leaders, consider the words of Daniel:

“And he [AntiChrist — the Prince that Shall Come from Dan. 9:26] shall confirm the covenant with many for one week [seven years]: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.” (Daniel 9:27)

The infamous ‘Road Map Quartet’ consisting of the US, the EU, the UN, and Russia put together a plan as a group, but the Bible specifically states that a man — a ‘prince’ — will negotiate the peace. Who is this prince? The Hebrew word used by Daniel (inspired by the Holy Spirit) is ‘nagiyd’ which can mean (according to Strong’s) ‘leader, ruler, captain, or prince’.

Is George Bush hoping to be ‘the prince’? How will Putin respond if Bush indeed does broker a peace plan? (Of course, don’t forget the US ‘imagined scenario’ where Putin is assassinated on January 7th!.

President Bush arrives in Jerusalem on January 9. We’ll be watching. — PID
