TOKYO (CANADIAN PRESS) — Asian stocks plunged Monday, dragged down by last week’s decline on Wall Street and the weak U.S. dollar.
Traders pinned hopes on bargain-hunting to buoy markets later in the day. Japan’s benchmark Nikkei 225 stock index lost 2.24 per cent to finish at 16,438.47 points on the Tokyo Stock Exchange – the index’s lowest close since Sept. 26. Full Report
